Is it Too Early to decorate for Christmas?

Written by Jemmie Clarke

Is it too early to decorate for Christmas? In my opinion, yes. Thanksgiving is a day to celebrate gratitude and friendship. It gives us time to reflect on the year’s blessings and appreciate our loved ones. Usually, people decorate for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, or sometimes they put up their tree on Thanksgiving Day. Recently, though, many people have started decorating the day after Halloween.

My family and I put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving so we can still celebrate that holiday with our family. Why do people want to decorate so early? I think it’s because they’re eager and excited to see family, get gifts, enjoy the weather and food, and feel the joy of the Christmas spirit.

The reason my family and I don’t decorate in November is that we want to cherish those moments with our family without expensive gifts or bright, festive décor. I do understand why some people decorate early—especially because of Light Up Night—but November 1st still feels too early.

So, what do you think? Is it too early to decorate for Christmas?
