Easy Halloween/Fall-Themed Yarn Crafts

By Izzy Gehringer

  1. Yarn leaves

This is a simple craft that you can add into your room for fall! There is a step that can be pretty complex without instructions.

What you will need:

  • A ruler
  • Yarn (Any color and any brand is fine!)
  • Scissors
  • Hair brush (This will make sense later.)

First take your yarn and line it up on the ruler and cut at the 6 ½ mark, this piece will be the longest.

Next cut about 20-30 pieces of yarn at about 5 inches.

Now this can be a little tricky: Lay the longest piece of yarn down on a flat surface. Put one strand in a loop (both of the ends touching) under the long piece of yarn with the loop facing outwards. Do the same with the other side but make sure the ends are ABOVE the longest piece of yarn and put the ends in the other loop, repeat for the other strand and pull to tighten. Do this for the other strands of yarn.

Over a trash can cut and shape the sides like a leaf (You can simply look up a leaf on the internet and use that for inspiration!)

Then with the hair brush, gently brush out the yarn so it looks somewhat fluffy, this step is optional.

  1. Yarn Pumpkins

This is a very simple craft to use for a tic-tac-toe board or just for decoration!

What you will need:

  • Orange yarn
  • Green yarn
  • Scissors

Simply wrap the orange yarn around your fingers until it forms sort of a circle.

Pull the yarn off your fingers (DON’T CUT IT!)

Next, in the circle take about a 1 ½ inch piece of green yarn and tie around the inside of the circle and twist it to form a Vine!

  1.  Yarn mini ghosts

This is very cute and you can add this to a long piece of yarn with your pumpkins and leaves!

What you will need:

  • White yarn (Or any color)
  • Piece of cardboard (The length doesn’t matter it just depends on how big or small you want it to be.
  • Scissors

First wrap the piece of yarn around the cardboard up and down between 10-20 times.

Next, cut the yarn midway through the cardboard and take a 3 inch piece of yarn and wrap the yarn around it.

Cut at the top part of the yarn.

Now, by the part where you wrapped the yarn put it on your fingers and right below it you wrap the yarn again and tie!

You can turn these into a keychain or really anything!
